INTUBAND

Application

Used to seal PVC-U pipes as they pass through fire compartment walls and floors. Most often used in situations where a pipe passes through a hole which needs further fire sealing. Firetherm Intucompound is the perfect companion product for making good after installation.

Description

A sealed plastic sleeve containing high-pressure intumescent sheet, designed to fit around PVC-U pipes with a Velcro securing system. Sizes: 55mm, 82mm, 110mm, 160mm.

Fire Rating

Tested at Warrington Fire Research to BS476 Part 20, 4 hours fire integrity.

Legislation

Building Regulations 1991 Approved Document B states that all plastic pipes over 40mm should be provided with a propitiatory sealing system, which has shown, by test to maintain the fire resistance of the wall, floor or cavity barrier. "Firetherm Intubands comply with these requirements".
